Glossary of Terms

Here is a glossary of Aaiyyanist terminology. If any Dravidian Aaiyyanists see any errors, please contact the Aaiyyan World Foundation directly.

Aardra Aaiyyanists - Practitioners of the Green (Harita) form of Aaiyyanism. The ancient practitioners were more dogmatic than they are now.

Accanaayan - a Yogic transformation where the mind is split and can transverse simultaneously several dimensions closer to our own to see various realities

Adaapukadaayan - a household waiting boy of the royal court of King Nekaankilaan.

Alavuyyan - an ancient Yogic technique which grants the user unparalleled strength and the ability to heal quickly and resist death.

Alavuyyanian (which is part of the discipline of Alavuyyan) which cannot be defended against.

Amarttuyyan - a quiet void/hole where the demon Tarakasura resides.

Anavuyaan - Aatmaani Aaiyyanist technique of in which the adept uses Lokas (dimensions) close to ours, but in a time reference that is aside from ours such that one can see clearly in various timelines that are similar and not too dissimilar to our frame of reference.

Ankaamiyyan - the art of combat. One of the Trials of Turappuyan devised/discovered by Seer Janeganianaa.

Ankaamiyyanal - an ancient rendition of Ankaamiyyan pertaining to Delviniyan's trial of combat, which explores the concepts more thoroughly.

Araaiyyan: 'The Chamber'. This is the central realm of Brahman's essence which houses the 'will' of Brahman.

Ararriaan - A Tala filled with Flames

Aravanni - a transgender person

Arikaayan (Karmic Promise)

Arulliyaan Yoga (a form of Dravidian telepathy

Arvaarayan - the art of meditation. One of the Trials of Turappuyan devised/discovered by Seer Janeganianaa.

Arvaarayanal - an ancient rendition of Arvaarayan pertaining to Delviniyan's trial of meditation, which explores the concepts more thoroughly.

Aaiyyani Asweenikaaya - she was one of the main philosophers of the Aardra tradition and was said to have formulated many of the Harita symbolic inscriptions that the Aardra school use today.

Asura - A demon/negative entity

Ataantain Loka - a powerful Loka that can stop time

Ataantain-Aruguyaanal - a Tala Loka that describes a dimension of infinite time that has stopped

Atekkaayan - Brahman's block, a barrier that prevents positive Lokas and negative Talas from forming completely so that resonant energy can flow between the realms/dimensions.

Badaagaiyyan ritual is a magical bond that binds two being together. It is now used as part of the Dravidian Aaiyyanist wedding ritual.

Brahman is the all knowing and pervading One. A metaphysical being that is within everything and infinitely eternal.

Chuttuvallian - an ancient form of the Chuttuval/whip sword.

Darukayyan - an early incarnation of the demon Daruka who gave Sage KalShivayan the Darukayyanal(a powerful weapon)

Darukayyanal - a powerful Tantric weapon

Delviniyan - an orphan who becomes Brahman's Turappuyan

Deva - a God/positive being

Dravidian Gadallal - a precursor to the Gada/Blunt weapon.

Eruvaayan Kingdom - the pure Aardra Aaiyyanist Kingdom that was at one with nature and treated all in harmony.

Eccarisuyyan - the ancient Dravidian Aaiyyanist Yogic pose to awaken the mind to clarity and forethought.

Queen Geekannaya - Queen and Aardra philosopher of the Eruvaayan Kingdom.

Jnana Yoga - The Yoga of Knowledge

Princess Kabilanyaa - Princess of the Eruvaayan Kingdom. Daughter of King Nekaankilaan and Queen Geekannaya.

Kappuayian a treatise on gardening and horticulture written by Aaiyyani Asweenikaaya.

Loka is a positive dimension, plane of existence or realm.

Seer Janeganianaa was an oracle of limitless foresight and foretold Surapadman's arrival 70,000 years ago. 20,000 years before Suradpman actually appeared.

Sri Janeganian (named after the great Seer Janeganianaa) - a wandering Sage. He also pioneered the Yogic technique of Anavuyaan.

Kalaiyyans - Dravidian Tantric practitioners that ruled 50,000 years ago, over an area which occupied some parts of the later Pandyan dynasty (600 BCE).

Sage KalShivayan, the Head Teacher and Sage at the Temple/School of KutiKampalaam

Kattaariyaan - a form of Kattari/punch dagger.

Kottaaiyyan - The Kalaiyyan's ancient palace.

KutiKampalaam -an ancient Kalaiyyan Tantric temple. The forerunner of the modern Tantric Abichaara School.

Kurrappamal - A Tala filled with storms, thunder and lightening

Kuruxaram is a form of Negative Legality that existed in the Ancient land of the Kalaiyyans.

Maduvulal - an ancient form of the Maduvu/Stab shield.

Mahapralaya - the Great Dissolution. The final destruction at the end of time. After 100 Brahma years (313,528,320,000,000 human years), Brahma dies and becomes one with Brahman again to then become reborn in the next cycle.

Malai Kilavan - Lord of the Hills (one of the names of Murugan-Aaiyyan).

Murugaiyyan - A great Tantric festival is held every 15 years in remembrance of Murugan Aaiyyani and the handing down of Dravidian Aaiyyani to humanity.

Murugan Aaiyyan - is said to be a form of Shiva and Parvati, or the merging of feminine and masculine to create a holistic being. In traditional Hindu thought, Murugan is the son of Shiva and Parvati.

Natuvuyan Loka is a Loka (positive dimension) where Aaiyyan exists in, and is of pure energy and Oneness that is close to the direct link with Brahman's essence: Araaiyyan.

King Nekaankilaan - King and Aardra philosopher of the Eruvaayan Kingdom.

Guru Sage Nivedhayyan - The only other person who prized the mystical flower Veluupuyan from Asura Tarakasura's hand.

Orukkamayyan - The ancient Aaiyyanist scripture that describes the essence of Brahman

Orukkamayyian - The flame/power of Brahman. When Brahman extinguishes this, Brahman indicates that He has reached a higher level and is ready to create a new Orukkamayyian.

Otikkukaayyan - the trials of magic. One of the Trials of Turappuyan devised/discovered by Seer Janeganianaa.

Otikkukaayyanal - an ancient rendition of Otikkukaayyan pertaining to Delviniyan's trial of magic, which explores the concepts more thoroughly.

Prince Paamaranyaan - Prince of the Eruvaayan Kingdom. Son of King Nekaankilaan and Queen Geekannaya.

Parvati is the companion/wife of Shiva and in Hindu Aaiyyanism is the epitome of the Mother Goddess

Pooja - a prayer

Queen Sironemaniyaa - Queen of the Kalaiyyans

Raaguuluuyan - ethereal plane of existence, of which the energy can be used to conceal your self.

Sannyasin - a ascetic renunciate

Sadanandiyanal - A great warrior who keeps reincarnating to fight battles. The 3 incarnations of Sadanandiyanal won the trial of Ankaamiyyan 3 times before King Nekaankilaan's trials.

Skanda - God of War. (One of the names of Murugan-Aaiyyan)

Shrutiyyan - Oral tradition of Dravidian Aaiyyanism - attributed to the Gods or higher beings. It is linked etymologically to the Sanskrit term: Shruti.

Smritalal - Written tradition of Dravidian Aaiyyanism - attributed to specific authors in our ancient past. It is linked etymologically to the Sanskrit term: Shruti.

Suuayan - an ancient forerunner of the S'uunya School

Surapadman - A powerful Demon that forms the wall (Atekkaayan) that blocks the boundaries between our realm and that of others.He appeared in our realm around 51,000 years ago. 1000 years before the birth of Delviniyan.

Tala is a negative dimension, plane of existence or realm.

Tarakasura was the brother of the Demon Surapadman

Thaali - wedding necklace or mangala sutra

Taladian was a lowly servant of the great King Nekaankilaan and also a scholar and healer.

Tallamaali point. These are total points of negativity (cursed places) where various Talas (negative dimensions) are close to our realm and intersect.

Tilaaiman an ancient village and birthplace of Delviniyan. Some scholars say it was near the modern village of Silaiman.

Tivinnain - a Yogic technique to allow the inner mind to listen to the voice and sounds of Brahman

Treta Yuga age - The second age of Yuga, approximately 1,296,000 years.

Tridevi - Trinity of Supreme Beings (of feminine form): Saraswati, Lakshmi, and Parvati

Trimurti - Trinity of Supreme Beings (of masculine form): Brahma (The Creator), Vishnu (The Preserver) and Shiva (The Destroyer)

Tunnamayyan - an ancient Dravidian artefact/pillar that had inscribed onto it the symbols of Tunnamayyanal.

Tunnamayyanal - The Brahman Loka/Tala that encompass all the Loka and Tala inscriptions needed to penetrate all dimensions to reach the central point of Brahman.

Turappuyan - Brahman's Instrument or tool that is able to break 'The Block': Atekkaayan

UdSainikahyan Order -a precursor of the SainikaH martial School

Utaaruyaan - a Tala (dimension) that is said to be a combination of deeply frozen and fiery realms. This Tala is close to our realm

Uyirpuyaanal - A Loka filled with peace and a beautiful fragrant wind/breeze

Vel - A spear (weapon)

Veluupuyan flower - a mystical flower which grants immortality. It is held by Asura Tarakasura as part of the Otikkukaayyan
